Effective January 1, 2027 · Last updated September 11, 2026
Program Overview
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) is a 120 semester credit hour (SCH) online program delivered asynchronously.
Primary CIP alignment: 11.0701 — Computer Science. Program code: CSE-BS-001. Engineering in this program refers to software systems engineering practice (requirements, testing, security, deployment, and operations).
This is an academic degree in computer science and computing technologies; it does not constitute professional engineering licensure or a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) credential.
A year runs Spring, Summer, Fall. Students complete general education and a common core through Semester 5, then select one track in Semesters 6–8: Computer Science, AI/ML Engineering, or Cybersecurity Engineering.
Prerequisites must be satisfied before enrollment. The semester outline below is a recommended sequence; students may customize pacing when prerequisite requirements are met.
Course materials are provided digitally (OER-first where available). Expand each course for prerequisites and skills students will obtain.
Program Structure
- General Education: 33 SCH
- Common Core (Semesters 1–5, pre-track): 42 SCH
- Work-Based Learning / Capstone Studio (Years 1–3, common to all tracks): 9 SCH, recommended as the last term of the year
- Upper-Division Track (Semesters 6–8, one track only): 36 SCH
- Total: 120 SCH (33 + 42 + 9 + 36)
- Minimum grade for degree progress: D (60%) unless a course specifies a higher competency minimum.
