Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
Satisfactory progress, probation, and termination standards at Education Redefined Inc.
Effective January 1, 2027 · Last updated September 11, 2026
Definition of Satisfactory Progress
A grading period for this policy is one course; progress is evaluated at the end of each course.
A student is making satisfactory progress when the student meets the course pass rule (minimum D / 60% / 1.0 GPA points for each course attempted), maintains a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00, and meets published course participation and submission requirements.
Academic Probation
A student may be placed on academic probation for unsatisfactory academic progress.
Probation terms may include a required academic success plan, mandatory advising check-ins, pacing requirements, and/or limits on course load.
Probation terms are provided in writing and retained in the student record.
Termination for Unsatisfactory Progress
A student on academic probation who passes the probationary course (D / 60% or higher) and whose cumulative program GPA has returned to at least 2.00 returns to good standing.
A student on academic probation who passes the probationary course but whose cumulative program GPA remains below 2.00 may be continued on academic probation for one additional course.
Enrollment is terminated if a student on academic probation does not pass the probationary course, or if the student's cumulative program GPA remains below 2.00 at the end of a second consecutive probationary course.
Incompletes and Withdrawals
Incomplete (I) — Institutional Discretion: may be assigned when a student cannot complete required coursework due to documented circumstances beyond the student's control. If approved, the student may complete the work by the end of the term or request readmission to complete the work in a subsequent term within 12 months, subject to standard administrative and tuition fees for that term. This option is available no more than twice per degree program.
Incomplete (I) — Texas Education Code § 132.061(f): a student obligated for full tuition who is withdrawing for a reason unrelated to academic status may request a grade of Incomplete and re-enroll within 12 months to complete the work, with no additional administrative or tuition fees (additional fees for books/supplies may apply).
Written numeric grade reports for each course are provided through the learning platform and official end-of-course notices no later than 3 weeks after the completion of the course.
Readmission
Readmission after termination for unsatisfactory progress requires a minimum of one grading period (one course) and may require a written academic success plan.
