Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellation, pro rata refund, and withdrawal procedures at Education Redefined Inc., consistent with minimum state requirements for distance education.
Effective January 1, 2027 · Last updated September 11, 2026
Cancellation Policy (72 Hours)
A full refund will be made to any student who cancels the enrollment contract within 72 hours (until midnight of the third day excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays) after the enrollment contract is signed.
Full refund regardless of timing
A full refund is provided when the applicant is not accepted, the institution discontinues the course or program, or enrollment was procured through misrepresentation.
Lessons (Refund-Computation Unit)
For refund-computation purposes, a lesson is one instructional module (the assigned video and its associated quiz, if any), consistent with the attendance unit defined in the Attendance Policy.
Effective date of termination
For refund purposes, the effective date of termination is the earliest of: the date the institution notifies the student of termination; the date the institution receives the student's written withdrawal notice; or the end of the third calendar month following the month in which the student last completed a lesson, unless the student has notified the institution that they wish to remain enrolled.
Refund Computation (Lesson-Based, Distance Education)
Refund computations are based on the number of lessons in the course or program.
If tuition and fees are collected before any lessons are completed, and the student fails to begin the program after the 72-hour cancellation window, the institution will retain not more than $50.
If a student terminates or withdraws after the 72-hour cancellation window, the institution may retain not more than $50 of tuition and fees; the student is refunded the pro-rata portion of the remaining tuition, fees, and other charges based on the number of lessons completed and serviced by the institution relative to the total number of lessons in the course or program.
Key Definitions (Distance Education)
Last date of attendance (LDA): the last date a student engaged in an academically related activity, as documented in the LMS or other institutional records (for example, submission of an assignment, quiz, or exam; participation in a required academic interaction; or completion of a graded activity). Logging into the LMS without academically related activity is not considered attendance. See the Attendance Policy for full definitions and measurement methodology.
Effective date of termination: the date used to determine refund timing and calculation, based on the earliest of institutional termination, the student's written withdrawal notice, or the lesson-based termination date described above.
Lesson completion percentage: for refund calculation, the institution uses the number of lessons completed and serviced by the institution relative to the total number of lessons in the course or program for which the student has been charged, measured through the effective date of termination.
Refund Calculation Example (Illustrative)
This example is provided for illustration only. Actual refunds are calculated based on the student's enrollment agreement, amounts charged or paid, and the student's documented lesson completion.
Example scenario: A student is charged $1,000 in tuition and $100 in fees for a term with 10 total lessons. The registration fee is $50.
If the student withdraws after completing 4 of 10 lessons, the institution has earned 40% of tuition ($400) as serviced.
Refundable amount (illustrative): amount paid ($1,100) minus earned tuition ($400) minus non-refundable registration fee ($50) minus the $50 retained per the lesson-based formula = $600.
Refund Timing
Refunds will be fully completed within 60 days of the effective date of termination.
Military Cancellation and Refund (Call to Active Duty)
A student called to active military service may elect, for each program in which enrolled, one of the following: (a) a pro-rata refund of paid tuition, fees, and other charges, with cancellation of any unpaid amounts for the incomplete portion of the program; (b) a grade of Incomplete with the designation "withdrawn-military" for courses in the program (other than courses already graded), with the right to re-enroll not later than the first anniversary of discharge from active military duty, without payment of additional tuition, fees, or other charges beyond any previously unpaid balance; or (c) an appropriate final grade or credit if the instructor(s) determine the student satisfactorily completed at least 90% of the required coursework and demonstrated sufficient mastery for credit.
How Refunds Are Determined
Refunds are not calculated as a flat number of days after enrollment. Refunds are determined based on the number of lessons completed and serviced by the institution relative to the total number of lessons in the course or program, as documented by the institution.
Official Withdrawal
Students must follow official withdrawal procedures through the Registrar to terminate enrollment and establish an official withdrawal date for refund calculation.
