How grades are determined
Courses may use Objective Assessment (OA), Performance Assessment (PA), or hybrid formats. The official transcripted outcome is a letter grade based on the overall course score (percentage), calculated per the weighting method in each course syllabus.
GPA = Σ(GPA points × SCH) ÷ Σ(SCH).
A course is passed only with a final grade of D (60%) or higher and demonstrated competency on all required outcomes defined in the course syllabus. A grade of F is non-passing.
A grade of F is non-passing and does not earn credit. Incomplete (I) and Withdrawal (W) do not earn credit.

Incomplete (I) pathways
Incomplete (I) — Institutional Discretion: may be assigned for documented circumstances beyond the student's control. If approved, the student may complete the work by the end of the term or request readmission within 12 months, subject to standard administrative and tuition fees. Available no more than twice per degree program.
Incomplete (I) — Texas Education Code § 132.061(f): a student obligated for full tuition who withdraws for a reason unrelated to academic status may request Incomplete and re-enroll within 12 months with no additional administrative or tuition fees (books/supplies fees may apply).
Repeated courses
When a course is repeated, the higher of the two final grades earned is used in the cumulative GPA calculation; both attempts remain on the academic record.
